Fate of priority pollutants in publicly owned treatment works. Pilot study

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6257597
The purpose of the report is to present the results of a two-plant pilot study designed to determine future operating parameters to be used during a study of the fate of priority pollutants in publicly owned treatment works (POTW's). The scope of the overall project is anticipated to encompass 7-day, 24-hour sampling at 40 strategically located POTW's, representing a variety of municipal treatment technologies, size ranges, and percentages of industrial flow. A major goal of the project is to characterize the impact of toxic pollutants, from all sources, on POTW operations. In addition the effect of secondary treatment on priority pollutants will be studied.
