Mineral Revenues: the 1984 report on receipts from Federal and Indian leases with summary data from 1920 to 1984

More than $9.3 billion in bonuses, rents, and royalties was collected from Federal mineral leases in 28 states and the Outer Continental Shelf. Another $138 million was collected from mineral leases on Indian lands and distributed to Indian tribes and allottees. Thus, mineral revenues from Federal and Indian lands continued to be a major source of income to the Federal Government, States, and Indian tribes and allottees in 1984.
