Lattice SU(2) gauge theory with a generalized Wilson action

The dependence of the mean one-plaquette action on the parameter ..beta.. is obtained by the Monte Carlo method for SU(2) gauge theory with a generalized Wilson action. A first-order phase transition is observed. The topology of the one-plaquette action is studied.
