NOSTRADAMUS programmable translator user's manual and programmer's manual
One of the disadvantages in using supercomputers to run engineering analysis codes is that the binary files produced on the supercomputer may be incompatible with postprocessing programs running on a different machine. It is therefore necessary to translate these binary files into a form that is readable by the machines used for postprocessing. Described herein is a programmable translator that translates data produced by one of these analysis codes from the binary format of the Cray supercomputer to the functional equivalent for the Digital Equipment Corporation VAX machines. The general usage of this translator is discussed, as well as the programming language for the translator and some of the finer points of the use of this language. Several programming examples are also included.
