We have obtained a superconductor with zero-resistance temperature T/sub cf/ = 94.1 K, midpoint transition temperature T/sub c/ = 95 K, onset temperature T/sub ci/ = 100 K and transition width T/sub c/ = 1 K in Y-Ba-Cu-O system. The result of x-ray diffraction structural analysis at low temperature shows that there exists a phase transition in the multiphase superconductor at low temperatures (123--173 K). Therefore, we consider that the high T/sub ci/ of the multiphase superconductor in the Y-Ba-Cu-O system results from the low-temperature phase transition and is not completely at the superconducting transition point. Through the substitution of Cr for one third of Cu in the oxide system we have also obtained a superconductor with T/sub cf/ = 82.8 K, T/sub c/ = 83.5 K, T/sub ci/ = 92 K, and ..delta..T/sub c/ = 1 K.
