High temperature superconductivity in Y-Ba-Cu-Nb-O system

Journal Article · · Int. J. Mod. Phys. B; (United States)
Results of the resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements for an oxide superconductor with nominal compositions of Y/sub 1/Ba/sub 2/ (Cu/sub 1-x/Nb/sub 2/)/sub 3/O/sub 6+/delta// and Y/sub 0.4/Ba/sub 0.6/ (Cu/sub 1-x/Nb/sub x/)O/sub 2+/delta// where x = 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, are reported. Superconducting transition temperatures T/sub c/ onset (T/sub co/) and T/sub c/ final (T/sub cf/) are above 90 K and 80 K respectively. The authors have observed a gradual change in the X-ray powder diffraction patterns of the samples with the change in x.
