Reactivity of various complex species of rhodium(III) in reactions with tin(II) chloride (in Russian)

The reactions of tin(II) chloride with monomeric chloroaquo, chloroammine, and nitro complexes, as well as polynuclear chloride, sulfate, and hydroxo compounds of rhodium(III), under standard conditions have been investigated. It has been shown that the formation of rhodium-tin chloride compounds is quantitative only for the chloroaquo and nitro complexes of rhodium(III). The reasons for the decrease in the reactivity of the other complex species have been analyzed. It has been concluded that the nature of the original complex of the inert metal has a decisive influence on the results of its analytical determination. The possibility of the application of the reaction with the tin(II) chloride to the analysis of rhodium compounds with organic ligands has been demonstrated.
