Polymer performance in low permeability reservoirs

Conference · · Soc. Pet. Eng. AIME, Pap.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6222690
Polymer performance was evaluated in core materials from four low permeability (9.1 to 45 md) reservoirs. Injectivity impariment was noted in the higher permeability cores. Rock properties were examined by a variety of techniques in order to explain the apprently anomalous injectivity behavior. Results show that reservoir core characteristics other than permeability can dominate polymer performance, and that special core analysis techniques can be used to screen ad characterize reservoir porous media. 11 refs. 11.
