The transmutation effectiveness and its sensitivity to the uncertainty in {sup 237}Np data were evaluated for an accelerator driven, subcritical, minor actinide fuelled, sodium cooled target, called PHOENIX. Nuclear data were taken from the JEF-2.2 evaluation. In addition ENDF/B-VI cross sections were used for {sup 237}Np. Significant discrepancies were found in the JEF-2.2 and ENDF/B-VI results (3.3 % in k{sub eff}, the JEF-2.2 value is smaller). The k{sub eff} discrepancies primarily originate from differences in X and {bar V} data.
