This paper describes a self-sponsored accreditation program for nuclearpowerplant-personnel training. The utility is organized, staffed, and managed to facilitate planning, directing, evaluating, and controlling a systematic training process that fulfills job-related training needs. Training facilities, equipment, and materials adequately support training activities. In-plant, on-the-job, simulator, and laboratory training are effectively presented, and trainee performance is evaluated consistently. Nuclear plant positions requiring training accreditation are listed in the article. Most utilities have found benefits in the accreditation program beyond actual certification.
