Part I of the hearing record covers one day of testimony on H.R. 3400 and H.R. 5084, both amendments to the Clean Air Act. H.R. 3400 would reduce acid deposition by controlling specified sources of sulfur dioxides and nitrogen oxides. H.R. 5084 deals with the control of hazardous air pollutants from both stationary and mobile sources. Witnesses, who spoke for environmental groups, pollution control equipment manufacturers, the utility and manufacturing industries, labor, the medical profession, and others, were invited to address any concerns about air pollution control and the Clean Air Act. Material submitted by the witnesses and others for the record follows the text of the two bills and the testimony of 30 witnesses.
