The Omnibus Low-Level Radioactive Waste Interstate Compact Consent Act establishes congressional consent for regional compacts to manage the transportation and storage of low-level wastes on a cooperative basis. Title II identifies each of the participating states in the Northwest, Central, Southeast, Central Midwest, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, and Northeast Interstate Compacts. The bill specifies procedures for each compact to establish a commission to administer the program. It also sets 10 years as the period for congressional review. The omnibus bill incorporates the separate considerations of each regional commission-.
