Radiative capture of polarized deuterons on [sup 7]Li

The differential cross section [sigma]([theta]), the vector analyzing power [ital A][sub [ital y]]([theta]), and the tensor analyzing power [ital A][sub [ital y][ital y]]([theta]) have been measured for the [sup 7]Li([ital [rvec d]],[gamma])[sup 9]Be reaction at [ital E][sub [ital d]](lab) =6.0 MeV. The angle-integrated cross section at this energy is estimated to be 4.8[plus minus]1.0 [mu]b. A transition matrix element analysis has been performed on the data. In addition, a direct-capture calculation has been performed, and is compared to the data.
