A reversible liquid solid phase change composition comprising hydrated Mg(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ and one of the group of Sr(OH)/sub 2/, SrCO/sub 3/, Ba(OH)/sub 2/, BaO, BaCo/sub 3/ and/or NaBo/sub 2/ added to the composition in an effective amount to suppress supercooling of the MgNO/sub 3/ liquid phase.
