A reversible liquid solid phase change composition comprising hydrated Mg(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ and one of the group of MgSO/sub 4/, CaSO/sub 4/, CuSO/sub 4/, NiSO/sub 4/, CoSO/sub 4/, and/or ZnSO/sub 4/, added to the composition in an effective amount to suppress supercooling of the MgNO/sub 3/ liquid phase.
