Role of spin-isospin effects in the. pi. /sup 3/He scattering problem in the region of the. delta. (1236) resonance

The ..pi../sup 3/He scattering amplitude near the ..delta.. (1236) resonance is obtained in the ''frozen'' nucleon approximation with account taken of all the pion-rescattering multiplicities. It is shown that allowance for the spin and the isospin leads to a fast convergence of the multiple-scattering series. The off-mass-shell behavior of the ..pi..N amplitude and the repulsion between the nucleons are considered.
