EOR + CO/sub 2/ = A gas-processing challenge

Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6175803
Gas processors with gases containing 80-90% carbon dioxide, and 5-10 times the volume of gas, in the space of 2-3 yrs. of CO/sub 2/ flooding were examined. A variety of processes that can be used for CO/sub 2/ removal at satellite processing plants are described. Diagrams of the triethanol amine (TEA) system and the Ryan-Holmes process are presented. The use of satellite plants, and how much CO/sub 2/ is removed there, depends on the ability of the existing processing plant downstream to handle more CO/sub 2/ and more gas volume.
