3p calculator program for multiphase flow analysis in pipelines, casing, and tubing

The HP-41C multiphase pipeline flow program (''3P'') is presented and its structure, use, and limitations are discussed. Theoretical basis for the program is the Beggs and Brill pressure drop and holdup correlation, along with a variety of fluid-property correlations. General user instructions and a horizontal flow pattern map are given. Flow patterns are not predicted reliably. Various segments can be replaced with other routines if desired since the program is modular. Run time generally takes 2 to 3 min. per calculation increment.
