10CFR50. 59 Where do we start

To receive current issues with the 10CFR50.59 process, we (the industry and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)) must first evaluate the objectives of the rule, then determine what is required to resolve the issues. The evaluation must ensure that the health and safety of the public remain the foremost consideration of the 50.59 process. The industry and the NRC must be willing to take the action necessary to provide licensees with well-defined criteria to achieve a satisfactory solution.
