Investigation of a jigging machine as an automation subject
An investigation into the relationships between the operating parameters of a jigging machine for coal cleaning and the quality of the cleaned coal was presented. The machine of interest was an OM-18 high-capacity, three chamber-jigging unit, with two chambers combined in the rock section and the third in the byproduct section. The operating parameters varied for experimentation were the rotation speed of the discharger rotors of the chambers, the air flow rate in the chambers, and the flow rate of the underscreened water. It was concluded that the automation system should include mandatory automatic regulation of such parameters as the air pressure in the jigging machine air chambers, the frequency of the pulsations and the machine load.
