The International Phase of Ocean Drilling (IPOD) of the Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) is planning and cooperating with outside investigators who wish to perform several major down-hole experiments/measurements during the 1978 to 1979 drilling program with the Glomar Challenger. These experiments include the placement of a down-hole seismometer, an oblique seismic experiment, a hydrofracture test in oceanic basement, and an electric resistivity experiment. The 4 experiments are to be run during leg 65, in the Gulf of California, during the period Jan. 21, 1979 to March 18, 1979. The planned programs and objectives of all experiments are presented. 14 references.
