The Westinghouse Electric Corporation with Ducon, Inc. and Burns and Roe, Inc. are conducting a test and evaluation program of a Granular Bed Filter (GBF) for gas cleaning applications in pressurized-fluidized bed combustion processes. This work is funded by DOE PRDA for Exploratory Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation of Systems or Devices for Hot Gas Clean-up. This report describes the status of the design and fabrication of the pilot scale test unit, test results from the bench scale alkali gettering work and preliminary results from the GBF system analysis.
