The Westinghouse Electric Corporation with Ducon, Inc. and Burns and Roe, Inc. are conducting a test and evaluation program of a Granular Bed Filter (GBF) for gas cleaning applications in pressurized-fluidized bed combustion processes. This work is funded by DOE PRDA for Exploratory Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation of Systems or Devices for Hot Gas Clean-up. This report describes the status of the testing of the subpilot scale GBF unit under simulated Pressurized-Fluidized Bed Combustion (PFBC) conditions and test results and analysis from the bench scale alkali gettering work.
