Proposed energy conservation contingency plan: emergency restrictions on outdoor gas lighting. Economic impact analysis environmental impact assessment

The economic impact of restrictions on the use of illuminated advertising and certain gas lighting is described. The proposed plan would reduce demand for electricity and natural gas. Advertising expenditures would shift to other media - radio, newspapers. No significant effect upon aggregate retail sales is anticipated. Microeconomic effects of the measure are negligible and all effects are minor and/or beneficial.
