Deadline nearing on state clean air plans

Steps being taken by the six states in Region V, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois, to meet requirements of the Clean Air Actof 1977 are summarized. States not meeting Federl Air Standards will be required to do so by December 1982. States must submit plans to EPA, stating how they will clean up polluted areas, by January 1, 1979.
