The manual provides a reference on heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls, and gives an understanding of how existing systems controls work and can be operated to enhance their energy efficiency. The text also covers how new systems can be selected to minimize energy use. The eight-chapter manual covers the topics of basic control systems, psychrometrics, basic HVAC configurations, control strategies, pneumatic control operation, electronic controls and their calibration and energy conservation opportunity (ECO) retrofits for increased efficiency.
