Title: Comparison of the fractions boiling up to 320/sup 0/C (or 340/sup 0/C) from the liquid-phase products made by hydrogenation of pitch, bituminous coal and brown coal (in German)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6128489

The fractions investigated were fractions boiling up to 320/sup 0/C from bituminous coal pitch (Ruhroel, 700 atm.) and bituminous coal (Gelsenberg, 700 atm., and Scholven, 300 atm.) and one boiling up to 340/sup 0/C from brown coal (Leuna, 300 atm.) (Each time, the data will be given for the fractions in that order.) The densities at 15/sup 0/C were 0.968, 0.930, 0.923, and 0.935, respectively. Aniline points were less than -25/sup 0/C for the first, and readings of -23.54/sup 0/C, -17.2/sup 0/C, and 15.8/sup 0/C respectively. Contents of phenols were 4.3%, 17.0%, 13.4%, 10.0% and of pyridine were 4.0%, 2.4%, 2.4%, 1.4%. Only the fraction from brown coal had any sulfur content (0.4%), but each had a content of oxygen, nitrogen, and/or chlorine impurities. (0.9%, 4.3%, 2.9%, 7.0%). 1 table.
