H.R. 1216 is a bill to provide federal assistance and leadership to a program of research, development, and demonstration of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and for other purposes. Statements and documents are provided from various associations and industries involved in renewable energy sources. The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) national energy program's for renewable energy technologies and research programs are presented by DOE officials. The national energy programs policy goals, short- and mid-term outlook for conventional fuels are presented, with the long term potential contributions of renewable energy technologies. Topics include solar buildings, photovoltaics, solar thermal technology, biofuels, wind energy, ocean energy, geothermal energy, energy storage and technology transfer.
