SKB has developed a complete system for the management of the radioactive waste. At present, the system consists of the following; a sea transport system for spent fuel and radioactive waste which is in operation since 1983, a central interim storage facility for spent fuel, CLAB at Oskarshamn, which is in operation since mid 1985, and finally a repository for radioactive waste from reactor operation, SFR at Forsmark, which was taken in operation April 1988.
