A study of the structure of the shales of the Pula deposit by the ozonization method

Journal Article · · Solid Fuel Chem. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6107642
The ozonization of Pula shale in acetic acid leads mainly to the formation of water-insoluble products. The chromatographable ozonization products consisted of normal monocarboxylic and normal dicarboxylic acids and lactono and keto acids, with dodecane-1, 12-dicarboxylic acid predominating. The yields and compositions of the ozonization products indicate the aliphatic nature of the kerogen.
