Effect of a helical magnetic field and of a plasma gyrotropy on Alfven-wave heating

The excitation of RF fields in the Alfven frequency range by a helical multipole circuit in a cylindrical, current-carrying plasma column in a longitudinal magnetic field is analyzed.
