Determination of the unit-cell parameter of a SrTiO/sub 3/ crystal

The authors conducted measurements on the interplanar spacings of SrTiO/sub 3/ in the clear and in the blue regions. Using comparative analysis of x-ray structural data obtained for SrTiO/sub 3/ crystals having clear and colored regions, the difference was established for the unit-cell parameters of ..cap alpha.. of a given crystal region amounting to 0.0001 /angstrom/. It was proposed that the reason for the decreased ..cap alpha.. in the defect-containing (colored) crystal portion is the high concentration of anion vacancies.
