In some complex oxide compounds with the perovskite structure, containing ions of two transition metals, the electrical conductivity is determined predominantly by the participation of heterovalent ions of only one of the transition metals and depends in a complicated manner on the composition. In this work the mutual effect of cobalt and chromium ions on the electrical conductivity and thermal expansion of perovskite solid solutions La/sub 0.7/Sr/sub 0.3/Co/sub 1-y/Cr/sub y/O/sub 3/ is studied. The coefficients of linear thermal expansion were determined using a quartz dilatometer. The electrical conductivity was measured by a four-probe method using dc current. THe coefficients of thermo-emf were determined relative to gold or silver with a temperature difference of 20-25 K at the ends of the sample.
