Legislative developments in 1980 are reported for six categories: federal nuclear legislation, utility oil back-out legislation, the Energy Security Act and other renewable energy legislation, the Pacific Northwest Electric Power Act, coal transportation legislation, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act amendments. Judicial cases involved nuclear reactors, coal transportation, hazardous wastes and hazardous materials, the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. Administrative Action during the year was involed with reorganizing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, three nuclear safety and public health issues, and the development of alternative energy sources. Colorado, Idaho, Maryland, New York, Ohio, and Wisconsin give individual state reports. 247 references. (DCK)
