Marchand trend

The trend is located on the SE. flank of the deep Anadarko Basin, west and northwest of Chickasha. The 15-mile-long trend covers portions of Grady and Caddo counties. The Marchand interval is a regressive clastic wedge of sediment lying approx. 150 ft below the Hogshooter regional marker and above the Huddleston or Culp-Melton Zone. The wedge of sediment thickens basin-ward in a W.-SW. direction and terminates eastward along a N.-NW. line. The interval isopach is a primary exploration tool used to delineate the producing zone. The sandstone reservoir is found approx. between the 125- and 325-ft isopach lines. Porous sandstone can be found at any level within this productive interval. Individual sands range from 10 to over 100 ft in thickness. The Marchand interval is interpreted as a prograding deltaic complex covered by shallow-marine deposits laid down by a subsequent transgression.
