An Anadarko Basin boom is on the Chickasha, NE. Verden and Dutton areas of Grady and Caddo counties, Oklahoma. The recent success of 3 wildcats to the south of NE. Verden field has definitely established the area as the best play in Oklahoma at the present time. Apache Oil Corp. and Midwest Oil Corp. have excellent flowing Marchand Sand oil wells in this area. Eason Oil Co. 1 Schenk, an extension to the Midwest discovery, encountered the most play thus far with approx. 120 ft net. The Marchand Sand, at 10,498 ft, flowed 66 bbl of oil per hr, or a daily rate of 1,500 bbl after fracture. The prolific production established to date has led to 17 drilling wells, 4 wells testing, and 8 locations. Structure in the Marchand area is essentially monoclinal with local nosing. Structural dips are to the southwest approx. 1$/mile. The trapping mechanism is stratigraphic in nature. The field is an offshore bar with evidence of channels. The NE. Verden-Dutton fields consist of 40 producers. Isopach maps and a cross section are shown.
