Effect of the strong interaction on the binding energies of muonic molecules

The effect of the nuclear interaction on the binding energy of muonic molecule ions is investigated. The dd nuclear potential was reconstructed from the deuteron--deuteron scattering phase shifts, which made it possible to estimate reliably the contribution of the nuclear interaction to the binding energies of all five discrete levels of the muonic molecule dd..mu... The results obtained can be of interest for the problems of muonic molecule physics and, in particular, for muon catalysis of nuclear reactions.
