High-resolution spectra of acetylene have been measured in the region between 11,640 and 11,850 cm[sup [minus]1] with a GaAs diode laser spectrometer. About 340 spectral lines assigned to the transitions in five bands (2[nu][sub 1] + [nu][sub 2] + [nu][sub 3] of [sup 12]C[sub 2]H[sub 2] and [sup 12]C[sup 13]CH[sub 2], and 2[nu][sub 1] + [nu][sub 2] + [nu][sub 3] + [nu][sub 4][sup 1] [minus] [nu][sub 4][sup 1], 2[nu][sub 1] + [nu][sub 2] + [nu][sub 3] + [nu][sub 5][sup 1], [minus] [nu][sub 5][sup 1], and 3[nu][sub 1] + [nu][sub 2] + [nu][sub 4][sup 1] [minus] [nu][sub 5][sup 1] of [sup 12]C[sub 2]H[sub 2]) have been analyzed to determine spectroscopic constants for the upper vibrational states.
