Design concepts for strip-line microwave spectrochemical sources

The feasibility of operating a strip-line microwave arrangement to form plasma discharges in argon and helium at atmospheric pressure has been demonstrated. A comparison of the operating properties of the strip-line, Beenakker, and Surfatron arrangements and their spectral emission from argon and helium discharges will be described in a subsequent publication.
