Hydrocracking catalyst for middle distillates

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6058933
A hydrocracking process is described comprising the step of contacting: (A) a substantially liquid hydrocarbon containing feed, which has an initial boiling point under atmospheric pressure conditions in excess of about 400/sup 0/F, with (B) a free hydrogen containing gas and (C) a catalyst composition comprising a support material consisting essentially of silica/titania on alumina which support material has been promoted with at least one compound of nickel, at least one compound of molybdenum and at least one compound of phosphorus, under such hydrocracking conditions as to obtain at least one liquid hydrocarbon-containing product stream having a lower initial boiling point and a higher API/sup 60/ gravity than the hydrocarbon containing feed; wherein the catalyst composition contains about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent nickel and about 1 to about 15 weight percent polybdenum.
