Catalytic cracking

Patent ·
OSTI ID:5628836

A cracking process is described comprising the steps of: (A) contacting a substantially liquid hydrocarbon-containing feed stream which has an initial boiling point under atmospheric pressure conditions in excess of about 500{sup 0}F and which contains at least about 5 ppmw vanadium with a catalyst composition comprising (a) zeolite, (b) matrix material, in which zeolite is embedded, consisting essentially of silica, and (c) at least one vanadium oxide at a level of at least about 0.2 weight-% V, under such cracking conditions as to obtain at least one liquid product stream having a lower initial boiling point and a higher API gravity than the feed stream.
