The present conference discusses topics in optical computing, phase-only signal processing, pattern recognition, image processing, associative processing, neural nets, acoustooptic signal processing, and spatial light modulators. Attention is given to a reconfigurable optical interconnection using photorefractive holograms, an optical data-flow computer, electron-trapping materials for optical parallel logic processing, an optical processor for adaptive arrays, deformable mirror light modulators for image processing, and a computer-generated hologram design for a magnetooptic spatial light modulator. Also discussed are optical data processing for NASA space exploration, an optoelectronic neural network, a photorefractive spatial light modulator, surface plasmon spatial light modulators, and a liquid crystal spatial light modulator using an a-Si photoconductor.
