Angular distributions ({theta}{sub cm} = 8{degrees}-171{degrees}) for the reaction {sup 12}C({sup 18}O,{alpha}){sup 26}Mg have been measured for E{sub cm} = 10.8-13.4 MeV in steps of 0.1 MeV, for the ground state and first two excited states of {sup 26}Mg. The {sup 18}O beam was accelerated through the University of Pennsylvania FN tandem van de Graaff accelerator. The target was a thin foil of isotopically enriched {sup 12}C. Alpha particles were detected using two discrete position-sensitive solid-state detectors. At back angles, where protons obscure the alpha groups, a {Delta}E - E telescope arrangement (with a gas {Delta}E detector) was used. The angular distributions were fitted to a linear sum of Legendre polynomials. A standard fluctuation analysis, in which deviation functions and cross correlations were calculated, demonstrated the presence of a significant non-statistical contribution.
