Solar energy as supplement to natural gas service. [Columbia gas system building highlights, Columbus, Ohio]

Journal Article · · Public Util. Fortn.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6049631
The Columbia Gas System in Ohio is demonstrating the potential for solar energy to supplement natural gas and will make the information on technical and economic feasibility available to anyone interested in applying the concept. The solar system is operating in a commercial building and will contribute up to a third of the heat and some of the air conditioning needs. Data from monitoring will be evaluated until 1983 and will be used for future commercial and residential projects. Columbia Gas recommends a complete energy conservation analysis and the implementation of all conservation measures that can be economically justified before retrofitting solar energy systems on existing buildings.
