Issues involved in the Hudson River Power Case are reviewed, and the role of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) ecologists in helping to resolve the issues is summarized. Of prime concern is the effect of the proposed pumped-storage hydroelectric plant near Cornwall on the Hudson River on the traditional habitat for the Atlantic Ocean striped bass. Positions drawn by the utility involved and the Environmental Protection Agency are outlined. (JGB)
