Dynamics of fractal colloidal aggregates

Dynamic light-scattering measurements on fractal aggregates of colloidal silica show that the mean decay rate (Rayleigh linewidth) of the intensity autocorrelation function scales like q/sup 2.7/, where q is the momentum transfer. This result is compared to the q/sup 3/ prediction for percolation clusters and the more complex results derived here for cluster-cluster aggregation.
