Measurements of the radiative capture cross sections of {sup 238}U have been carried out at 23 and 967 keV using antimony-beryllium and sodium-beryllium photoneutron sources. Absolute measurement techniques were employed throughout, so that the results are independent of any assumed cross-section values except for small correction factors. Separate elements of the experimental work involved the measurements of reaction rate, neutron source strength, and the number of target nuclei.
