Electromagnetic fuel injector
This patent describes an electromagnetic fuel injector for an internal combustion engine. This device is seated in a valve housing with a fuel injection nozzle and a valve seat at its front end and a guide hole extending along its axis to contain the valve body. The valve body of this device includes a cylindrical slide unit which has a fuel passage within it. A compression spring to allow the valve body to close the fuel injection nozzle is also described. Other components characteristic of this device are an armature fixed to the rear of the valve body, a fixed magnet core positioned selectively and having a fuel passage extending through its central portion, and an exciting coil surrounding the fixed magnet core. An electromagnetic housing combines the valve housing with the fixed magnet core. The described fuel injector discharges pressurized fuel when the exciting coil receives a control signal to open the valve body through an annular fuel passage.
