High-energy neutrons from the reaction /sup 64/Zn(. gamma. , n)/sup 63/Zn and intermediate structure of the giant dipole resonance

The yield curve of the reaction /sup 64/Zn(..gamma.., n)/sup 63/Zn was measured for neutrons with epsilon/sub n/>3.7 MeV; the energy spectra of the photoneutrons were also measured at various values of the bremsstrahlung maximum energy E/sub gammam/. It is concluded from analysis of the obtained data and from comparison with the results of analogous studies made for iron isotopes that the probability of decay of doorway states into more complex configurations increases with increasing distance from the region of nuclei with filled shells.
