Search for color-suppressed B hadronic decay processes at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance

Using 3.1fb{sup {minus}1} of data accumulated at the {Upsilon}(4S) by the CLEO-II detector, corresponding to 3.3{times}10{sup 6} B{bar B} pairs, we have searched for the color-suppressed B hadronic decay processes {bar B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}D{sup 0}(D{sup {asterisk}0})X{sup 0}, where X{sup 0} is a light neutral meson {pi}{sup 0}, {rho}{sup 0}, {eta}, {eta}{sup {prime}} or {omega}. The D{sup {asterisk}0} mesons are reconstructed in D{sup {asterisk}0}{r_arrow}D{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0} and the D{sup 0} mesons in D{sup 0}{r_arrow}K{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}, K{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0} and K{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}} decay modes. No obvious signal is observed. We set 90{percent} C.L. upper limits on these modes, varying from 1.2{times}10{sup {minus}4} for {bar B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}D{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0} to 1.9{times}10{sup {minus}3} for {bar B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}D{sup {asterisk}0}{eta}{sup {prime}}. {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society}
